Uganda is holding a 34 years old British national David Cecil accused of disobeying lawful orders of the Republic of Uganda. This is because of his staging a play entitled "The river and the mountains" in which he portrays the mistreatment of gay activists in Uganda.
The media council accuses David of disobeying the laws of the land which require all media material to be authorized by the media council before it is published or produced in any way.
The play has been banned from all public place and all local theaters. He was charged and remanded to Luzira prison Util Monday (17-09-2012)
