HIV prevalence among children.

The ministry of health has recorded a high increase in cases of mother-child transmition of HIV especially during and after birth. This was contained in a report presented at the Launch of B+, a new strategy aimed at bringing down the cases of mother-child transmition of the virus.

The campaign was launched by the fist lady of Uganda and minister for Karamoja affairs Mrs. Kataha Janet Museveni who stressed the need to act quickly to save the future of the nation.
The prevalence rates are so high that almost out of 10 kids born of HIV positive mothers, 6 get affected with the disease.
