Uganda, the defending Champions of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup are out of this year's tournament after a humiliating defeat to Tanzania on Saturday in their first quarter finals match at Aga Khan Stadium, Mombasa, Kenya.
The match was forced into penalty shootouts after the 90 minutes ended with each team counting 2 goal.
Uganda got her first goal in the 16th minute through Dan Sserunkuma. Tanzania through Mrisha Ngasa then leveled in the 18th minute.
Tanzania got her second goal in the 39th minute of the game and led the scoreline until end of first half before Salum Abubaker was handed a red card for improper conduct.
With only ten men left to play, Uganda leveled in the 72nd minute. This however could not save them because they failed to take advantage of the ten ma team to win the match.
The final score after penalties was 2-3 in favor of Tanzania. Tanzania therefore advance to the tournament's Semi Finals.
