MTN Kampala Marathon is here


Kampala is counting down to this year's biggest charity event, the MTN Kampala Marathon that is scheduled for tomorrow (24 November) starting at 7am from Kololo airstrip in Kampala.

The event, which is the 10th edition of the annual charity run seeks to raise funds to avail clean water to the people of Karamoja.

The year's marathon is conducted under the theme "Run for Water" and is expected to bring together Africa's top athletes from Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and several other countries across the world.

The event is proudly sponsored by Huawei, New Vision, Stanbic Bank and Rwenzori Beverages, the makers of Rwenzori water and Red Cross Uganda.

The marathon will have four races, that is
  • Full marathon (42.195km)
  • A half marathon (21km)
  • 10km road race
  • 10km wheel chair race
The marathon is registered by the Association of International Marathons (AIMS) certified by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF).
