Headline inflation rate declines

The Inflation rate for the month of October slightly reduced as compared to the headline rate in the month of September.

According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) boss Mr. Ben Paul Mungyereza, the October headline inflation rate was 8.1% down from 8.4% in the month of September.

The fall in the inflation rate is attributed to increased food production, increased milk production, all leading to reduced prices in food stuffs.

UBOS also highlighted improved transportation and reduced loadshedding as some other attributes to the reduction in the headline inflation rates.
