Te National Resistance Movement (NRM) is yet celebrating another achievement, this time with a new seat in the Ugandan Parliament after the Buhweju District Women representative by-election.
NRM's Olive Katwesigye Kwokyenga out-competed Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)'s Jane Frida Bwiruka, scoring 17,637 votes.
Frida managed to score only 9,266 votes.
The Buhweju Woman Parliamentary seat fell vacant in september, following the death of then Woman MP, Joy Karisa Arinaitwe.
The third candidate, an independent, Alison Byamukama withdrew from the race, just few days to voting date, raising chances for the success of NRM's candidate.
