An opinion poll conducted on the three contestants vieing to take over the top leadership of Forum for Democratic change (FDC) Uganda's strongest political party shows that Gen. Mugisha Muntu still leads the other contenders. The poll conducted by the Daily Monitor across the four main regions of eastern, western, central and northern shows that if elections were to be held now, Gen Mugisha Muntu would emerge the winner with a score of about 33% trailed by his close rival and leader of opposition in the Ugandan parliament Hon. Nandala Mafabi at about 21%.
This score would however call for a re-run as all candidates are below the required 50% score to sail through. Gen Muntu still has higher chases of winning given the fact that from the respondents to the poll, over 32% are not yet decided. Experts ague that the undecided would rally their support behind Gen. Muntu so as to give value to their vote.
Also in the race is Shadow Finance minister Hon. Geoffrey Ekanya who comes in third place with ABOUT 10%. Its very clear however, that, the race is between the two big bulls.
