A group of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) staff were on Monday evening beaten by rowdy people during a routine clean-up exercise at the New Taxi Park.
Three government vehicles were also damaged during the scuffle between KCCA law enforcement officers and traders at the New Taxi park.
The injured staff were rushed to Mulago Hospital in critical condition.
The assault cases have been reported to Police and investigations have kicked off.
KCCA has been of recent been involved in running battles especially with City traders who were ordered to quit doing business from the city center.
Their efforts are to transform Kampala and make it worthy of a Capital City. Their efforts have however met resistance from several Ugandans, who want to do business in the middle of the city center.
