Harambe Stars of Kenya were on Thursday crowned the Champions of the 2013 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup at Nyayo National Stadium after thrashing Sudan of a 2-0 score.
The 2013 tournament hosts showed from the start of the game a very impressive performance as seen in their confidence and playing tactics.
35 minutes into the first half, Allan Wanga headed the ball straight into the net, leaving Sudan struggling to seal the scoreline with a draw.
Sudan's dream of drawing was killed after Allan Wanga scored his second goal of the match and third of the tournament in the 70th minute.
Kenya takes the Challenge Cup from Uganda, who were eliminated fro the tournament by Tanzania in their quarter final match.
This is the 6th time Kenya is winning the trophy, having won the same in 1975, 1981, 1982, 1983, 2002 and 2013.
Kenya's win comes on a day the country is celebrating 50 years of independence and thus the win is regarded as a gift to Kenya for the struggle well fought.
