Uganda Draws Rwanda in Friendly

Uganda Cranes on Saturday held to a goalless friendly match with the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda held at Namboole National Stadium in Uganda, ahead of a crucial CECAFA group stages match with the same Country late this month.

Cranes keeper, Benjamin Ochan made four crucial saves as the team struggled to maintain their unbeaten home record.

Uganda and Rwanda are in the same group of the 2013 CECAFA Challenge tournament which is set for kick-off on November 27 in Nairobi, Kenya. Also in the group are Eritrea and Sudan.

The friendly was used as a curtain raiser to their CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, which Uganda, the current champion is looking to defend.

Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic blamed the result on the inexperienced team that he brought on board, which had Vincent Kayizzi, Emmanuel Okwi and Godfrey Walusimbi as the only senior players.
