Businessman and industrialist James Mulwana is dead.


One of Uganda's successful business moguls and industrialist James Mulwana has died. Mulwana died on Tuesday morning at Nakasero Hospital, a family source said.


The cause of Mulwana's death is yet to be established but doctors at Nakasero Hospital say he could have died of abdominal complications.
At the time of his death, Mulwana was the chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Limited, one of Uganda's fast growing Commercial Banks.  

He founded several business among which include  Nice House of Plastics Limited, Uganda Batteries Limited, Jesa Farm Dairy Limited along Hoima road, Jesa Investments Limited and Nsimbe Housing Estates Limited.

Mulwana's experience in the commercial world spanned over five decades. He got started in the import and export business in 1961. He has been a member and founder of Uganda Manufacturers Association and served as its chairman in the late 90’s.

He died at the age of 76 and is survived by a wife and three children.
